Pope Tawadros heads to the Holy Easter Mass at Saint Marks Cathedral tonight. A number of guests ranging from public figures and officials, to well-wishers will be attending the mass. The Pope led the Good Friday prayers yesterday morning at the Cathedral in al-'Abbāsīyyah after his return from Saint Bishoy Monastery. He is expected to welcome bishops, priests and the council of churches tomorrow starting from 9am till 11am, and public figures and officials from 11am till 2pm on the same day. Pope Tawadros sent Bishop Silwanous, General Bishop, on his behalf to lead the Easter Mass at the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria. The Pope heads to the Vatican on Thursday to meet with Pope Francis I to congratulate him on his inauguration of the Holy See.
