In the aftermath of a young Muslim who died during sectarian violence last August, clashes between Muslim and Christian residents in Dahshūr town in  Giza governorate of broke out again. The clashes started after a Christian ironing-man burned a Muslim customer's shirt during ironing. Mu’āz Muhammad (19), the Muslim victim, died due to serious burns from a Molotov cocktail during the initial clashes that lasted for ten continuous days. The police forces of the Giza Security Department deployed additional anti-riot police after two policemen and 13 anti-riot police officers were injured in the fighting. A security source in Giza said that village leaders and senior families will try to bring the two parties together for talks.  The last clashes yesterday erupted when the family of the Christian launderer tried to sell their house from which they had to flee for fear of retaliation by the family of the Muslim family.
