There is intense discussion between Cairo and Addis Ababa in preparation for an unscheduled visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister, Muhammad 'Amr, to Ethiopia in order to solve the ongoing Ethiopian Renaissance Dam crisis. Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II said that neither the Church in Egypt or Ethiopia has a solution to the crisis, and that the issue will discussed when he receives Ethiopian Patriarch, Bishop Matthias, at Saint Mark Cathedral on June 19. Head of the Egyptian Delegation to the Trilateral Commission, Dr. Shirīf Muhammadī said that Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia must work together on political level to deal with the crisis, and that no party seeks to limit Egyptian water supplies, compromise water safety or to cause widespread social and economic impact, which are the delegation's primary concerns. He added that more research needs to carried out into the project and its impact to minimize its potential negative effects (Husnī Milād, Hamdī Kamīl, Marco 'Adil, al-Akhbār, Jun. 13, p. 3).
