A meeting between Bishop Pachomius, the Coptic Orthodox caretaker at that time as the Pope was not yet elected, Church leaders, churches' representatives at the Assembly and jursits was held at Saint Mark Cathedral to discuss disputed articles at the draft Constitution and the possibility of withdrawal from the Assembly. The withdrawal became clear as the right way to represent various segments of society, like the Maspero Youth Union who had pushed for the withdrawal. Amidst an atmosphere of growing unity Fū'ād Badrāwī called a meeting on November 16 at "House of the People" or "Bayt al-Ummah" (Author's note: it is a historic house museum and Saad Zaghlul biographical museum in Cairo, Egypt) for November 18 to discuss the withdrawal. He invited many public figures including Hamdīn Sabbāhī in order to achieve a consensus on the issue. On the evening of November 17 representatives from most of the political parties met in the office of 'Amr Mūsá, amongst them representatives from the Constituent Assembly and people trying to convince the group to work with the Muslim Brotherhood (Author not mentioned, al-Yawm al-Sābi', Jun. 17, p. 10).
