In the front page of al-Watan, a number of Coptic organizations launched a conference, rejecting U.S. pressures on the Church to prevent Copts from participating in June 30 protests.

Najīb Jubrā’īl, Head of the Egyptian Union for Human Rights Organization, unveiled that Patterson, during her visit to the Cathedral last week, tried to intimidate Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II by saying that there will be violence against Copts. Pope Tawadros responded that the Church is not afraid of any attack against it, and Copts have total freedom to participate in protests or not.
