Egyptian churches welcomed the army’s decision to topple Morsi, stressing their support of the road map. Bishop Raphael commented on Morsi’s downfall, saying, “Thank God who brought us back together, this is the real Egypt”. Bishop Mūsá wrote a letter in his handwriting, saying: "Congratulations to Egypt, the joy of Egypt, unity of Egypt and future of Egypt. All the nation were included and represented in the plot beside Maj. General al-Sīsī, Azhar's Grand Shaykh, His Holiness the Pope and symbols of the national Egypt. It was nice having an obvious existence of youth in this plot. God bless our country and protect it from any harm.” Safwat al-Bayādī said that the road map means amending prosecutor and constitutional councils, which is one of the demands of the 22 million person rebellion who announced their rejection to the Constitution. The Coptic Catholic Church issued a statement praising the Egyptians, especially youth and the Armed forces (Ahmad al-Sa’dāwī, al-Shurūq al-Jadīd, Jul. 5, p. 3). The article has no link online.
