Nabīl said at the beginning of his testimony that the first suspect Najīb Iskandar killed Muhammad Mahmūd, the only victim in the case, after clashes erupted between Muslims and Christians. The clashes erupted when two children drew a Swastika symbol on the walls of an Azharian institute. When the judge asked Nabīl how did he know that Iskandar did it, the later answered that he has secret sources that he can not reveal (Muhammad Jum’ah, al-Shurūq al-Jadīd, July 8, p. 2).
