In Qena, dozens of Islamists attacked a Coptic Orthodox church in downtown Qena after the army statement. They also attacked a number of Coptic stores and smashed the storefronts.

Army and police forces dealt with the attackers and put them back in their location at al-Sā’ah square, however, they insisted on attacking Coptic stores, namely: Samrā’ store and Bella shoe. The clashes left two injured (Author not mentioned, al-Watan, Jul. 3). Read original text in Arabic.
