Another Copt, Kamāl John, was attacked while crossing the street in north Sinai. John, a paramedic at north Sinai first aid unit, was buying water and a dish of oriental sweets for his colleagues, with whom he was celebrating his son’s success in high school.

All of a sudden, a car passed by the first aid unit and a masked man came out, stabbed and ran over him, then escaped.

This is similar to the killing of three Copts on July 5, 6 and 11 by unknown assailants. John’s stabbing appears as a new act of sectarian violence, however,  John denies the suspicions of sectarian ground, fearing that enlarging the issue would produce negative effects.

Yet, nor him nor his colleagues can find an explanation for targeting him, especially since his well known and beloved by people for his good behavior during the whole time he worked there.
