Egyptian Churches welcomed the invitation of Col. Gen. ‘Abd al-Fattāh al-Sīsī, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, as well as Minister of Defense, for Egyptians to assemble in several squares next Friday (July 26) to authorize the Army to fight terrorism that has spread over the country.

Coptic Orthodox Archpriest Sergius Sergius, deputy of the patriarchate for administrative affairs, said that the Army’s intention to eliminate terrorism is a sincere one, and stressed that he will pray for the country’s peace and leadership.
