Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II said that the Coptic Orthodox Church supports all the security measures to protect Egypt and added in a tweet: “the national responsibility of the Coptic church calls us to support all measures to protect our country and realize our freedom without violence for Egypt to live in secure peace”.

Fādī Yūsuf, coordinator of ”Copts for Egypt” coalition, affirmed that the official page (Reviewer’s note: the newspaper did not mentioned if it was the coalition website or their page on a social networking website) of the coalition received threats from the online committees of the Muslim Brotherhood group, threatening Copts in case they join the demonstrations.
