The Monastery of Saint John (Patmos) the Beloved (the Evangelist, the Theologian) celebrated the consecration of the first church named after the hero martyr, Philopater Mercurius (Abī Saīfaīn), in the Cappadocian Caesarea on the 25th of the Coptic month of Epip (August 1) in Old Cairo. Copts came for a prayer in the monastery and in order to take part in the celebrations (Rā'fat Edward, al-Dustūr, Aug. 2). Read original text in Arabic.
