Two nights ago (August 31) gunmen fired on the security forces guarding the Abī-Saifayn Church in Port Said’s al-Zuhūr area. Eye witnesses confirmed that the attack occurred during a power outage in the area. Four conscripts were hurt. Two of the conscripts are in critical condition, while the other two were shot in the arm.

The church’s priest, Rev. Samuel, clarified that the attack targeted only the conscripts and not the house of worship. It did not happen at the time of prayer, but the church was hosting youth for social activities. When they heard the shootings, they left immediately, but the masked men had already fled. The damage to the building was only shattered glass on the first floor balcony (Hiba Sabīh, al-Watan, Sep. 2, p. 7). The article has no link online.
