Egyptian churches condemned the assassination attempt on General Muhammad Ibrāhīm, Minister of Interior, and described it as “a cowardly criminal act and a surge in terrorist operations in Egypt”. They pointed out that the protection of the churches is substandard, but they trust that they are in the hands of God, and even if they sacrifice their blood to Egypt they understand that it is an offering. The Rev. Dr. Ikrām Lam’ī, the official spokesman for the Evangelical Church, said, “The Church condemns the terrorist attempt to assassinate the Interior Minister.” Bishop Antonius
