Copts in the area of Dayr Mawās continue to ask for the intervention of security forces to stop the state of fear and terrorism in which they have been living since attacks began on August 14.  Since then, more than 40 stores have been vandalized; the diocese buildings and church-related facilities have been destroyed, as well as several Christian houses of worship, such as the Church of Saint Lazarus.
