A delegation of officials of the Egyptian Churches under the leadership of General Bishop David has traveled to the United States of America to meet with U.S. officials in the United States National Security Council in the White House. The purpose of the meeting was to explain the truth about the situation in Egypt by pointing out that Christian religious and social institutions in Egypt have recently been subject to organized attacks carried out by armed groups. Furthermore,  the delegation expressed the Churches’ full support for the Egyptian government’s “Road Map”.

The delegation declared that it was not the point of the visit to demand anything from the United States, but to clarify the situation in Egypt. Further, the delegation declared that the demolitionof churches and the intimidation that Christians still experienced until now are Egyptian matters which must be resolved internally. The delegation is confident that Muslims and Christians will rebuild destroyed houses of worship together.
