“Untrue statements” is the answer given by Diljā village Copts to governor Salāh al-Dīn Ziādah's remarks on the security situation in the village. The governor had said in a statement that the security situation in al-Minya governorate had improved remarkably.  A Coptic villager said the governor must be talking of another village. “How can he claim that security in the village was under control when the police station is demolished and occupied? There is no presence of security in the village. 45 Coptic families have been displaced because they couldn't pay the levies anymore.“ Copts from the village say that the situation embarrasses all officials from military and police. Copts invited the governor to the village, saying: “Mr. Governor, come to Diljā and taste the security you are talking about.”

Security forces are still unable to enter the village because big quantities of heavy weapons are held by Muslim Brotherhood thugs.  The security director from al-Minya has deniedon TV that Copts have to pay levies. Copts from the village complain that they personally assured him that this matter was a fact. 

The governor declared, “Armed forces are in the village and counter any attempt to violate the law. Some critics of the security forces and the safety of the nation are trying to foment fitnah in the village and repeat lies. Each citizen who personally witnesses an attempt of blackmailing shall come directly to my office since I am personally responsible to give him back his right” (Muhammad al-Zahrāwī, al-Tahrīr, Sept.13, p. 6). Read original text in Arabic.
