The June 30 Revolution came to restore normalcy and Copts’ rights in a democratic civil state and a home country where religious discrimination has no place. Politicians and jurists agree that the most important point the Copts have on the new constitution is the preservation of the “civil (secular) state” as prevailing determinant of state-citizen relationship and the protection of the Freedom of Belief  (Magdī Fikrī and Mamdūh Shahātih, al-Dustūr, Sept.15, p. 4).
