A number of political activists have announced forming a popular delegation to visit Daljā village in al-Minya next Thursday (September 19) and trying to investigate the violence against Copts in the village. Tariq al-‘Awadī, member of the high board of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, stated that the initiative has nothing to do with the party, as he presented the idea via his Facebook account and it has found much acceptance by political activists from different parties. A coordinating committee that will organize the visit has been formed including figures from the Leftist Socialist Popular Alliance Party and the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, as per al-‘Awadī (Safā’ Issām al-Dīn, al-Shurūq, Sept. 16, p. 3).
