Diaspora Copts who are members of the Coptic Solidarity Organization in Washington have sent a memo to the Constituent Assembly explaining its vision for the constitutional amendments. They requested amending the second article and allowing citizens with dual nationalities to run in the parliamentary elections. The letter stated that they would like to see Article 219 cancelled and explained that its continued existence indicates a fear of change (Mustafá Rahūmah, al-Watan, Sept. 16, p. 4).
