Bishop Bola, the representative of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the Constituent Assembly, demanded empowering women, Copts, and youth with all the available means. He stated that the discussion should not only be about the Copts, but about all marginalized segments in society. He also added that the idea of a Coptic quota is worrisome to many, and said that Copts will not accept to be represented in the parliament by a Copt as in the Iranian parliament. He also discussed the unified personal status law, stating that there was no success in issuing it.
