Bishop Julius, the bishop of the Church of Archangel Michael in Kirdāsah, stated that on the same day the church was attacked a number of supporters of Morsi attacked the church. He stated that after 36 days of burning the church, security has not been restored and that they were not able to carry out their religious rituals. He stated that when they inquired as to why the renovation of the church was taking so long, the response was that that they are planning a grand plan for Kirdāsah, but it will be a delayed.
