Coptic activists requested Dr. Biblāwī’s interim government to hold an extraordinary meeting to approve a budget to renovate the churches that have been destroyed in the aftermath of the dispersion of the Nahdah and Rāb’ah sit ins. The activists stated that the Muslim Brotherhood is responsible for the attacks against the churches due to their inciting discourse prior to June 30. Najīb Jibra’īl, the head of the Egyptian Union for Human Rights Organization, denounced the absence of the state’s institutions from the Upper Egyptian governorates.
