The Coptic Church celebrated ‘Īd al-Adhá with the Muslims. This took various forms and confirmed the wish of the Church to share in the Muslims’ joy. It also reaffirmed the strength of national unity. Bishop Bola, the representative of the Church in the Constituent Assembly, together with a number of bishops has made a historical visit to the Mosque of al-‘Arif Billah al-Sayyīd al-Badawī. This comes in the context of the mutual visits between churches and mosques that strengthened the bonds of love and friendship between Muslims and Copts (Majdī Fikrī, al-Dustūr, Oct. 16, p. 3).
