Security forces in Gharbiah have successfully caught two assailants accused of killing two young men in the village of Mahalah Ziyād of Samanūd Center and hanging their corpses in the bus station. The pretext given was that they were enforcing the penalty of Hirābah (banditry penalty in Islamic law involving cutting a hand and the opposite leg) as the deceased were accused by the people of stealing butane gas cylinders as well as abducting women and children last March. The investigation unit in the security department was able to identify ten of the people who implemented the penalty and two were arrested.
