Salafī Call Vice President, Yāssir Burhāmī, has made a fatwá (religious decree) that it is not permitted to watch sarcastic TV shoes or video clips similar to the program that was presented by Dr. Bassem Youssef entitled “al-Birnāmij”.

Burhāmī also responded to a question that was submitted through the Internet site, “Sāwt al-Salaf,” pertaining to the whether watching satellite channel programs and YouTube videos containing sarcasm of some Muslims is permissible.  He replied that it is not permissible except in order to know what is being said to respond to it (Fathī Majdī, al-Misriyūn, Nov. 25, p. 18). Read original text in Arabic.
