A large number of Copts and Christian coalitions will participate in the protests, the most prominent being the Maspero Youth Union and Copts Without Restrictions, etc. Also participating in the demonstrations are members of the Black Bloc, who are considering taking Archpriest Marqus ‘Azīz, residing in the United States, as their spiritual father.

Sources estimate that there will be approximately 50 thousands Copts participating in the demonstrations scheduled for Friday, February 1, 2013.
