Anonymous security sources revealed to al-Dustūr that terrorist groups and militias of the banned group (with reference to the Muslim Brotherhood) have planned to attack churches during Coptic Christmas early January. In the same context, Bolus Halīm, the spokesman of the Coptic Orthodox Church, stated that the state understands the danger that terrorism poses and the danger of the attacks against Copts (Girgis Halīm, al-Dustūr, Dec. 17, p. 1).
