Ibrāhīm ‘Isá, for his part, wrote an opinion piece in al-Tahrīr criticizing Mursī’s decision to have the parliament elections during Coptic Easter. He wrote: “This is the best decision Mursī took since he became the President! He decided to have the Parliament elections at the end of April, very good, well done […] This decision is great because it revealed the truth about the national dialogue […] This decision reveals the intentions of the Muslim Brotherhood to ignore Copts, meaning that these citizens [Copts], their feelings and rituals are not important or respected by the oppressing ruler. This decision reveals the ruler’s sectarianism.
