Attackers, believed to be members of the Muslim Brotherhood, targeted the house of a Coptic family in Nakariyah village, Sharqia. They attempted to kill the members of the family and start a sectarian strife (fitnah).  A number of armed persons stormed the house of Eng. Sabry ‘Issa Makary, General Manager of an electricity company in Sharqia. They climbed over the gates of the house carrying automated weapons and molotov cocktails and torched three cars belonging to the family. However, the explosions of the cars alerted the neighbors who pursued the group but they managed to escape (Muhammad Abd al- Azīz, al- Wafd, April 1, p. 4).
