In an interview, Bishop Yunas, the archbishop in St Mark’s Cathedral in Abāssiyah stated that so far, there are no names of people nominated by the church for the parliament. He also added that they do not know whether the current authorities will request that the Church submits names for the parliament, as used to happen in Mubārak’s days. He also added that Pope Tawadros refused to direct the people to elect al- Sisi despite the fact that “we really wanted him as president.” (‘Izat Bolus, Copts- United, July 10).
