Interim President Adly Mansūr met January 22 with his Holiness Pope Tawadros II, who headed a delegation composed of a number of bishops and members of the Coptic Orthodox Community Council. Ambassador Ihāb Badawī, the official spokesman of the president, stated that the Pope has congratulated the president on the approval of the new constitution calling it the beginning of the ‘right way’ that will lead Egypt to prosperity. He also thanked the president on the historical visit that the president made to the Cathedral to congratulate the Pope on the occasion of Christmas (Ahmad Majdī, al- Akhbār, Jan. 23, p. 3).
