Dr. Yūnis Makhyūn, head of Nūr Party, describes what happens in the Central African Republic as ethnic cleansing of Muslims by Christians, with the atrocities happening being worse than one could imagine. Because of the violence, many Muslims fled to neighboring communities. Makhyūn stated through a Facebook post "We say to the Western world: where are those human rights you are calling for?! Or are these slogans a way of putting political pressure on countries you want to extort?"

Makhyūn called for a special session of the Organization of Islamic Conference. Amnesty International had demanded that the international community should do something to stop what it described as ‘ethnic cleansing’('Amr Hasan, al-Fath, Feb. 14. p.12). Read original text in Arabic here.
