On February 26^th, newly appointed Prime Minister Ibrahīm Mahlab made his first public appearance when he visited the papal residence at St. Mark’s Cathedral in ‘Abāssiyah. Accompanied by Dr. Ghādah Wālī, the new Minister of Social Solidarity, Mahlab offered Pope Tawadros II his condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack that killed 7 Christian Egyptians in Libya (Peter Majdī, al-Tahrīr, Feb. 28, p. 8).
