Associated Press reported that the New York police are spying on mosques in cooperation with the CIA. ‘Ajīla Rahman, one of the most prominent activists in the “Nation of Islam” movement, told the Associated Press that a case like this should not be taken lightly, because if this concerned any other group, the Jews for example, it would lead to a crisis. Several American Muslims filed a lawsuit against the New York police. However, a federal judge settled the case in favor of the New York police, saying that they do not violate the principles of the American constitution, adding that the spying is considered a legitimate effort to fight terrorism.
