Egypt’s UN ambassador, ʿAmr Ramadān says “we accept positive criticism that will support the progress that we aim for”. Worth mentioning is that 25 international organizations issued a statement “condemning the Egyptian government for its treatment of human rights defenders and for its human rights violations”. According to Philippe Dam of human rights watch who spoke to the council, “Egypt’s response indicates a very weak potential for a positive change”.
