Opinion: Tensions are rising in Egypt as it approaches the fourth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution and widespread dissatisfaction over the state of freedom and the deteriorating economic situation abounds. The situation can improve in Egypt under the condition that the government abandons the so-called confronting extremism policy, which really is about weakening political opposition, in addition to withdrawing its designation of the Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. If the government adopts this position, then Egypt will have a bright future. Without dialogue between secularists and Islamists, Egypt will not break free from its current crisis.
