Sources within the Ministry of Endowments have released that the ministry has prepared a list of 3,800 prayer sites nationwide for the ‘Id al-Fitr prayers. The ministry has also appointed 7,600 of its imams, two for every prayer site, to lead the prayers and deliver the relevant sermons.

It has emerged that the new initiative Bayt al-Zakāa al-Misrī (Egyptian House of Almsgiving), supported by President ‘Abd al-Fattāh al-Sīsī, was the idea of the previous Grand Mufti, Nasr Farīd Wāsil, however it did not receive enough support or enthusiasm from former president Husnī Mubārak.
