Security services in Alexandria have arrested the perpetrator of a crime in which four Copts and a Muslim were killed. The crime occurred in the area of Naj’ al-Salām in the city of Burj al-‘Arab.

The Muslim Tāhir Mūsá 'Abd al-Qādir, 22, was working as a guard for the victims. He decided to kill them in revenge for their alleged bad treatment of him. However, a relative of the victims, Mīlād Jirjis, said that they bought 6 acres of land in Burj al-'Arab to build houses, but some people were chasing after them calling them "kufār" or "nonbelievers," thinking that they want to build a church. This was believed to be the case until the big brother of the victims donated a piece of land to build a mosque and wrote a pledge in Burj' al-'Arab Prosecution Office not to build a church on the land.
