The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information demands the lawsuit against ʿAza Suleymān to stop
The network calls for the cancellation of the lawsuit against ʿAzza Sulayymān, who participated in an unauthorised demonstration in commemoration of the January 25th Revolution. Using force, the Egyptian police dissolved the rally without preceding warnings. The activist Shīmā‘ al-Sabāgh was killed during the clashes. Although not participating, ʿAza Suleymān and other human rights activists witnessed the killing and reported the event. The government reacted by accusing ʿAza Suleymān and 15 other witnesses of participating in the unauthorised demonstration. The network believes these accusations to be the consequence of ʿAza Suleymān willingness to serve as witness and compromise police officers.
