Family in Egypt is a relationship that is taken seriously and give Egyptians great pleasure and warmth that emphasize the interconnectedness of each family member with one another. In the more contemporary Egyptian history, prominent families actively engaged in intellectual and social struggles. And yet, differences in political ideas have excluded and isolated members of the same family since the January 25, 2011 revolution, and still are to this date. Politics and the political events were the major cause of creating controversies and even went so far as to the extent of a state of breaking family bonds among siblings in the aftermath of the June 30, 2013, between those who insisted on Muhammad Mursi stepping down after less than a year in office, and those who supported him, and still are, since he has been ousted.
