The Egyptian Front for Human Rights, an Egyptian civil society organisation, has condemned an increase in deaths resulting from deliberate medical negligence and degrading conditions in places of custody, which have recently led to the death of the defedant ʿUmar ʿĀdil aged 29 years old. According to close sources, the incident occurred three days after his detention for questioning at a disciplinary ward at Ṭura Prison, despite his poor state of health.
