Egyptian Jews: the TV series “The Jewish Neighborhood” is not historically correct
The electronic newspaper “Ahrām ’Aun li-Dīn” published a report on the Ramadan TV series “The Jewish Neighborhood” which displays the events that took place in Cairo in the 1940s and which caused a huge tumult. The production is accused of promoting historical inaccuracies about Jews and the Muslim Brotherhood in that period. The newspaper interviewed an Egyptian Jew, Albert Jack Ārī, who grew up in Jewish Cairo. He affirmed that the series does not portray the truth, stating that it does not display the real way they lived or the way the dressed back then. He also added that it is not fair to blame the MB for all that happened to Egyptian Jews, which the series does.
