The Egyptian Union for Human Rights: The visit to Jerusalem was a mistake

The Egyptian Union for Human Rights is going to hold conference tomorrow discussing whether its visit to Jerusalem aimed at normalising relationships between Egypt and Israel or lending political support to the Palestinian cause. Although the visit happened shortly before a Christian holiday, the Union’s president Najīb Gibrā‘īl emphasises that the visit was not religiously motivated and a political statement for Israeli politics.
