Fatwah: Islamic Law prohibits the affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood

The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Prof. Mohammad Shouqī ʿUlām, clarified that the affiliation and association with the Muslim Brotherhood is prohibited by Islamic Law because the Islamic religion forbids joining groups like this one; which allows murder, violence and bloodshed. He added in a statement at the “al-Mazmā” center that there is no difference between the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIL and al-Qāʿida, since they all distort Islam and promote destruction and violence.
