Al-Waṭan made the first interview with Anba Murqus, Bishop of Shubrā al-Khaymah, after he assumed the presidency of the Clerical Council for Family Affairs.

During the interview, Anba Murqus underscored that the 2016 bill is applied in the personal affairs councils; pointed out that the Unified Personal Status Law needs further debates; and revealed the details of Pope Tawāḍrūs's change plan in the church. Also, he said that the Holy Synod follows the opinion of the majority, and that it currently witnesses a restructuring of committees and an expansion in the membership of its standing committee.
