Although 63 years have passed since the revolution July 23, it is still the subject of debate: there are those who burden the revolution with the negative implementation of the Mubarak regime, and there are those who believe that it is an advanced stage of the Egyptian revolution that has been able to move the Egyptian society towards a much wider horizon than the one posed by the national movement prior to the revolution. The latter wing has proven valid when comparing between what Egypt was like in the forties and what became of it in the early seventies when Gamal Abdel Nasser passed away, and Anwar al-sadat's autocratic ruling in May 1971 that ended the revolution of July.
