The Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies (CIHRS) – an Egyptian civil society organization – and 11 NGO’s organized a public briefing in the headquarters of the US Senate in Washington on the 9^th of April, the same day President ‘Abd Al-Fattāḥ Al-Sīsī visited the White House to meet President Trump. 

Six members of Congress participated in the conference, including senators Chris Van Hollen and Patrick Leahy and Representative Ilhan Omar. The Egyptian representative Khālid ‘Abū Al-Najā said that all Egyptians today are behind bars since the current government is trying to terrorize them all.
