Pope Tawāḍrūs II of the Coptic Orthodox Church has voiced his opinion of Egypt’s unique status as a country that has received numerous blessings throughout its many ages and civilizations. He made the comments during an Easter service at the Saint Mark Cathedral in al-ʿAbbāsīya and offered thanks to God for the achievements of the country during its long history. Elsewhere, he identified the coinciding of Christian and Muslim religious celebrations as evidence of national unity and the close relationships between different religions in Egypt.
