The 22^nd Knesset Elections has shaken the confidence of the current Israeli Prime Minister and leader of the Likud Party, Benjamin Netanyahu, who has canceled all of his meetings at the UN this Friday in order to meet with his coalition of right-wing parties.  He is hoping to address the slim majority that his political rival, former General Benny Gantz, just recently attained.  The final results appear to place the Blue-White Alliance, led by Gantz, with 32 seats ahead of Netanyahu’s Likud Party with 31 seats.  With a very slim majority, the Blue-White Alliance managed to impose a new amendment to break the right-wing parties’ 13 year control.  The press is reporting that this election has revealed the major rifts in Israeli politics between the conservatives, who wish to implement more religious statues and laws, and the liberals, who wish to rescind such laws and benefits.
